In the heart of the Marais, Le Grand Mazarin continues its artistic mission with La Grande Manufacture, a project that invites contemporary artists to engage in dialogue with the urban landscape. For this new edition, the duo Pangea, formed by Colombine Jubert and Laëtitia Rouget, takes over the hotel’s windows with a poetic and meaningful installation titled Les Tendres Épouvantails (The Tender Scarecrows).
An artwork that blends imagination, color, and symbolism while exploring our relationship with the modern world.
Who is behind the artistic duo Pangea?
Created in 2020, Pangea is an artistic duo born from a long-standing friendship between Colombine Jubert and Laëtitia Rouget. Their name refers to Pangaea, the ancient supercontinent that once united all lands into one, a symbol of unity and connection. This idea of togetherness, sharing, and creative harmony lies at the heart of their work.
Both artists studied at the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London, where they developed a unique visual language at the crossroads of art, design, and performance.
Colombine Jubert, a former art director in fashion, and Laëtitia Rouget, a painter and ceramicist, combine their creative worlds to shape a joyful, free, and deeply human aesthetic.
Their artistic approach is rooted in a tangible utopia, to create a shared world where color, texture, and gesture become vessels of universal emotion. Splitting their time between Paris and Lisbon, they imagine works as fragments of a collective dream, carrying an optimistic and poetic message.

The Tender Scarecrows: Pangea’s installation at Le Grand Mazarin
For La Grande Manufacture, Pangea created a brand-new installation titled Les Tendres Épouvantails.
Unveiled in the hotel’s windows on September 24, the work combines beauty and symbolism, designed specifically for the space and those who pass by.
Through a series of hybrid totems that stand somewhere between weather vanes and articulated figures, Pangea stages a parade of benevolent scarecrows. Crafted from recycled materials such as fabric, metal, and concrete, these whimsical characters seem to rise from the ground to question the viewer: which direction should we take in this ever-changing world?
Each figure, with its organic shapes and vibrant colors, appears to waver between sky and earth. The last one, in a liberating gesture, rises above the frame, reaching toward the sky, “the nest of dreams from which it was born.”
Poetic and vibrant, the installation invites visitors to slow down, observe, and dream. It offers a sensory experience where art becomes a breath of air in the heart of the Marais.
Les Tendres Épouvantails perfectly embodies the spirit of Pangea, an art form both joyful and symbolic, blending recycling, emotion, and reflection on our world. The work speaks to hotel guests and passersby alike, transforming Rue de la Verrerie into an open-air gallery.
La Grande Manufacture: a creative laboratory inside Le Grand Mazarin
Imagined by Maisons Pariente, La Grande Manufacture is an artistic program launched with the opening of Le Grand Mazarin. Its goal is to turn the hotel into a living space for creativity, where the worlds of contemporary art and luxury hospitality meet.
Through this initiative, the hotel regularly invites artists to transform its Marais windows into original installations accessible to everyone, locals and travelers alike.
After Héléna Soubeyrand, who explored femininity and the cycle of life in a poetic installation, Pangea now takes over, infusing La Grande Manufacture with a playful and universal energy.
Supported by Maisons Pariente, this project perfectly reflects the group’s commitment to celebrating contemporary art and building bridges between creativity and hospitality. Each artist residency becomes an invitation to explore imagination, dream, and emotion.
When contemporary art meets luxury hospitality
Le Grand Mazarin stands out for its bold personality, where art holds a central place. In the heart of the Marais, this five-star hotel blends Parisian elegance with creative freedom, in a setting designed by the renowned interior architect Martin Brudnizki.
Pangea’s installation naturally fits into this spirit, a place where refinement meets imagination, and every detail tells a story.
This collaboration continues the Maisons Pariente philosophy, which envisions each hotel as a maison d’art de vivre, a house of living art rooted in its time, curious and open to the world.
By welcoming Pangea, Le Grand Mazarin reaffirms its role as an artistic showcase in the heart of Paris and its dedication to supporting emerging talents in the contemporary scene. Here, art becomes a universal language shared between visitors and Parisians.
